Sometimes, our perception to life situations matters in the determination of our fulfillment here in this side of the world. Truth is, your perception determines the depth of your conviction. Let me share a story with you.
A young couple moved into a new neighborhood. The next morning while eating breakfast, the young woman saw her neighbor through the window hanging the wash outside. ‘That laundry is not clean’, She said. ‘She doesn’t even know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs better laundry soap.’ Her husband looked on, but kept silent. Every time the neighbor would hang laundry to dry, the young woman would make the same comments.
About one month later, the woman was surprised to see nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband, ‘Look, she has finally learnt how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this!’ The husband replied, ‘I got up early this morning and cleaned our windows.’ And so is it with LIFE! What we see when watching others depends on the purity of the window through which we look. Easy to discuss other people, their lives and things that do not concern us, yet we tend to forget our own windows that are not clean to help us see properly.
If all you do is to spot the wrong parts of other people, it might not necessarily be correct. The fault might just be yours! What you see in people is a reflection of who you are. Once you start to view people with the wrong perception, it literally shows your mode of upbringing.
Another part to this is the way people view you too. Sometimes, we’ve been told a lot of junks since when we were young. Sometimes, what we were told was borne out of people’s sincerity but hey you can be sincerely insincere! People might have told you that you can’t amount to something BIG in life due to your failures in elementary school but failures do not define the real worth of people. We have all failed in one way or the other but that never determined the extent at which we can rise in life. Thomas Edison failed. So did Abraham Lincoln, Ben Carson, Alexander Graham etc. But did they still get to the top? Yes! So refuse to make excuses. Your failures are temporal.
So I challenge you, see life as something worth it, See life as a beautiful experience, an exciting journey. See life as an opportunity to bless mankind. I tell you, life is sweet regardless of your ugly experiences, life is wonderful. When life throws a lemon to you, make lemonade out of it. That’s the correct way to view life. May God comfort you on every side and give you a correct view of why you’re on earth at this precious dispensation.
